RANKD 개인정보 처리방침
RANKD(이하 “앱”)는 세상의 통계와 순위를 사실과 여론으로 나누어 보여주는 서비스입니다. 앱은 회원가입을 요구하지 않으며, 이용자를 식별할 수 있는 개인정보를 최소한으로만 다룹니다.
1. 수집하는 정보
- 익명 식별자 — 앱을 처음 실행할 때 Firebase Authentication이 임의의 익명 ID를 만듭니다. 이름·이메일·전화번호·주소록·위치는 수집하지 않습니다.
- 투표 기록 — 어떤 주제의 어떤 선택지에 투표했는지를 익명 ID와 함께 저장합니다. 한 사람이 같은 주제에 두 번 투표하는 것을 막기 위해 필요합니다.
- 이용자가 올린 투표 — 직접 작성한 질문과 선택지, 작성 시각.
- 신고·차단 기록 — 신고한 글의 식별자와 사유, 차단한 상대의 익명 ID.
이름·이메일·전화번호·주소록·정확한 위치는 수집하지 않습니다. 이용자 정보를 판매하지 않습니다.
2. 광고
앱 화면 아래에 Google AdMob 배너 광고가 표시됩니다. 앱은 맞춤 광고를 사용하지 않으며(nonPersonalizedAds), 안드로이드 광고 ID(AD_ID) 권한을 앱 매니페스트에서 제거했고 iOS에서는 광고 식별자(IDFA)에 접근하지 않습니다.
다만 광고를 띄우는 것 자체를 위해 Google Mobile Ads SDK가 다음을 수집하여 Google과 공유합니다. 이는 앱이 끌 수 없는 부분이며, 구글이 공개한 데이터 공개 문서에 따른 것입니다.
- IP 주소 — 대략적인 위치(국가·도시 수준)를 추정하는 데 쓰일 수 있습니다
- 앱 상호작용 — 앱 실행, 탭, 광고 노출·클릭
- 진단 정보 — 앱과 SDK의 실행 시간, 멈춘 비율, 전력 사용량
- 앱 세트 ID — 같은 개발자가 만든 앱끼리 같은 기기로 알아보는 데 쓰이는 식별자입니다. 광고 ID와 달리 SDK가 자동으로 붙입니다
쓰이는 목적은 광고 게재, 광고 측정, 부정 클릭 방지입니다. 자세한 내용은 Google의 파트너 사이트 데이터 이용을 참고하시기 바랍니다.
3. 이용 목적
- 투표 결과를 집계하고 순위를 보여주기 위해
- 1인 1표 규칙을 지키기 위해
- 신고된 콘텐츠를 확인하고 조치하기 위해
- 오류를 파악하고 서비스를 개선하기 위해
4. 보관과 위탁
데이터는 Google Firebase(Cloud Firestore, Authentication)에 저장되며, 데이터베이스 위치는 asia-northeast3(서울)입니다. 처리 위탁 대상은 Google LLC이며, 자세한 내용은 Firebase 개인정보 보호를 참고하시기 바랍니다.
5. 보관 기간과 삭제
앱 안 설정 → 계정 → “계정과 내 데이터 삭제”를 누르면 즉시 처리됩니다. 심사나 대기 기간이 없고, 되돌릴 수 없습니다. 앱을 이미 지우셨다면 위 이메일로 요청해 주시면 처리해 드립니다.
즉시 삭제되는 것 — 익명 계정, 투표 기록, 차단 목록, 직접 올린 여론 주제와 선택지, 사실 랭킹에 쓴 오류 신고 글.
내용을 비우고 가리는 것 — 기존 주제에 덧붙인 선택지. 이름과 익명 ID를 지우고 화면에서 가립니다. 다만 항목의 자리는 남깁니다. 표를 항목 번호로 저장하기 때문에, 항목을 없애면 뒤 항목의 번호가 밀려 예전 표가 엉뚱한 항목에 붙습니다. 남는 것은 아무 정보도 없는 빈 칸입니다.
남는 것 — 집계된 표의 수(누가 골랐는지와 연결되지 않습니다)와 신고 접수 기록(신고를 처리하고 반복되는 문제를 확인하기 위해 필요하며, 신고한 사람의 익명 ID가 함께 남습니다).
지운 데이터의 사본은 따로 보관하지 않습니다. 단계별 안내와 표는 데이터 삭제 안내에 정리해 두었습니다. 이용자가 삭제하지 않는 한 서비스 운영 기간 동안 보관합니다.
6. 통계 데이터의 출처
앱이 보여주는 “사실” 랭킹의 수치는 World Bank Open Data 등 공개 API에서 받아온 값이며, 각 랭킹에 출처와 기준연도가 함께 표시됩니다. 이 과정에서 이용자 정보는 외부로 전송되지 않습니다.
7. 이용자가 올린 콘텐츠
앱은 이용자가 직접 투표를 올릴 수 있습니다. 욕설·혐오 표현·성적인 내용·개인정보가 포함된 글은 등록 단계에서 차단되며, 이용자는 언제든 신고하거나 특정 이용자를 차단할 수 있습니다. 신고된 글은 24시간 안에 확인하고 조치하며, 신고가 3건 이상 쌓인 글은 확인 전까지 자동으로 숨겨집니다.
8. 아동의 개인정보
앱은 만 13세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동의 개인정보를 고의로 수집하지 않습니다.
9. 이용자의 권리
이용자는 언제든지 자신의 데이터 열람·삭제를 요청할 수 있습니다. 앱 안에서 직접 삭제하거나, 위 이메일로 요청해 주시면 처리해 드립니다.
10. 변경 고지
이 방침이 바뀌면 이 페이지에 변경 내용과 날짜를 게시합니다.
RANKD Privacy Policy
RANKD ranks the world’s statistics, separating verified facts from public opinion. The app requires no sign-up and handles the minimum amount of personal data.
What we collect
- Anonymous identifier — Firebase Authentication creates a random anonymous ID on first launch. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts or location.
- Votes — which option you chose on which topic, stored with that anonymous ID so one person cannot vote twice on the same topic.
- Polls you post — the question and options you write, and the time you posted.
- Reports and blocks — the post you reported and why, and the anonymous IDs you blocked.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts or precise location. We never sell your data.
Advertising
A Google AdMob banner is shown at the bottom of the screen. The app serves non-personalised ads only (nonPersonalizedAds), the Android advertising ID (AD_ID) permission is removed from the app manifest, and on iOS the app does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA).
To serve ads at all, however, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares the following with Google. The app cannot switch this off; the list follows Google's own data disclosure documentation.
- IP address — may be used to estimate approximate (country or city level) location
- App interactions — app launches, taps, ad impressions and clicks
- Diagnostics — app and SDK launch time, hang rate, energy usage
- App set ID — an identifier grouping apps from the same developer, added by the SDK itself, unlike the advertising ID

Storage
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Authentication) in the asia-northeast3 (Seoul) region. See Firebase Privacy.
Deletion
In the app, go to Settings → Account → “Delete account and my data”. It happens immediately, with no review step or waiting period, and cannot be undone. If you have already removed the app, email the address above and we will do it for you.
Deleted immediately — anonymous account, votes, block list, polls and options you posted, fact-error reports you wrote.
Emptied and hidden — options you added to an existing poll. The name and anonymous ID are removed and the item is hidden, but its slot remains: votes are stored by item index, so removing an item would shift later indexes and attach old votes to the wrong item. What remains is an empty slot containing nothing that identifies anyone.
Retained — aggregate vote counts (not linked to who voted) and abuse reports you filed, with your anonymous ID, so we can act on reports and spot repeat problems.

User-generated content
Users can post polls. Content containing slurs, hate speech, sexual content or personal information is blocked at submission. Anyone can report a post or block a user. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and posts with three or more reports are hidden automatically until reviewed.
Children
RANKD is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time — in the app, or by emailing the address above.
